Biography
Amanda Lockaby is currently the Co-Managing Partner at Lockaby PLLC and was formerly a partner at an AmLaw 200 firm. She has extensive experience defending personal injury and product liability claims, including the successful defense of complex multi-district litigation, on behalf of businesses of all sizes, including product designers and manufacturers, long-term care providers, national retailers, and utility contractors. At Lockaby PLLC, Amanda is a passionate advocate for her employer clients in all types of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage-and-hour actions, and provides day-to-day HR and contract counsel to owners, business unit leaders, and human resources professionals. She regularly conducts workplace internal investigations and has handled medical staffing matters for hospitals, both at the internal peer review level and in court. She skillfully negotiates severance agreements on behalf of employee clients upon separation from their employment, and has successfully prosecuted “qui tam” actions (fraud claims brought under the False Claims Act by employee whistleblowers) on behalf of the United States Government.
For the past 12 years, Amanda has been named to either the Kentucky “Super Lawyers” or “Rising Star” lists, a peer-nominated distinction reserved for a small percentage of Kentucky lawyers. She received her B.A. from Centre College in 2006 and J.D., summa cum laude, from Northern Kentucky University’s Chase College of Law in 2009, where she was the Kentucky Survey Editor of the Northern Kentucky Law Review.
Beyond Lockaby PLLC
Amanda serves as the Secretary for Lexington Habitat for Humanity's Board of Directors, and volunteers for her children’s school PTO. Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with her children, Lily and Aidan.
