Biography

Abigail Wearden is an associate attorney with Lockaby PLLC. She joined the firm in April 2025 after working for three years at a large law firm where she represented businesses of all sizes in labor and employment, administrative, construction, bankruptcy, and equine matters. Abigail has extensive experience defending employers in state and federal courts and hearings before the U.S. Department of Labor, including its Benefits Review Board on appeal. She has also successfully represented employers seeking to enforce non-compete restrictions and has defended a variety of claims in Kentucky state and federal courts and in arbitrations before JAMS and AAA.

Abigail is passionate about finding creative solutions to complex legal problems and obtaining exceptional, cost-effective results for her clients. She received her B.A. from the University of Alabama in 2018 and J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2022, where she served as Vice President of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society, allowing her to successfully mediate dozens of magistrate court cases before earning her law degree

Beyond Lockaby PLLC

Abigail serves on the board of Bluegrass Runners, a non-profit organization based in Lexington, Kentucky, which has raised nearly $500,000 for local charities through its annual Thoroughbred Classic 5k. Abigail loves to be active, having raced two marathons, two triathlons, and eight half marathons (and counting). She loves cheering on the Crimson Tide, cooking, and spending time with her mini-Aussiedoodle, Scout.
