Mislabeled Sunscreen SPF Ratings Under Investigation

We are currently investigating potential class action claims against the makers of Banana Boat Kids Tear-Free Sting-Free sunscreen and CVS Kids Sun Lotion — both with a represented SPF 50 rating — for product mislabeling. Consumer Reports has found that both sunscreens tested at a SPF rating of 8, falling woefully short of each company’s representation and each product’s label.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends that children use a sunscreen with SPF rating of at least 30 to prevent sunburn and other skin cancer risks. If you purchased either of these products, you may be entitled to your money back. Please contact Lockaby PLLC for additional information.
